Who we are

Strategic Biz Partners started in 2018 with a simple observation: most small and mid-sized companies already know where their problems lie. What they lack is the time, structure, or outside perspective to solve them. We fill that gap.

Our team of six consultants brings backgrounds in finance, operations, marketing, and organisational design. Between us we have worked with over 120 businesses ranging from family-run manufacturers to SaaS startups scaling past their first million in revenue.

We are based in Scotland but work with clients throughout the UK, both on-site and remotely. Every engagement starts with a two-hour diagnostic call at no charge, because we want to understand your situation before anyone signs anything.

What we do for you

Each service is tailored to your company size, sector, and budget. We price by project, not by the hour, so there are no surprises on the invoice.

Strategic planning

We help you define where the business should be in 12, 24, and 36 months, then map out quarterly milestones. The plan includes revenue targets, hiring timelines, and capital requirements so every department knows what to aim for.

Operational efficiency

We audit your workflows, supplier agreements, and team structure to find the bottlenecks. One manufacturing client reduced order fulfilment time by 34% after we restructured their warehouse pick-and-pack process over eight weeks.

Financial advisory

Cash flow modelling, break-even analysis, pricing strategy, and funding preparation. If you are approaching investors or lenders, we build the financial model and pitch deck together with you, typically over a three-week sprint.

Leadership coaching

Founders often outgrow the role they started in. We coach managing directors and senior managers on delegation, hiring decisions, and communication skills through fortnightly one-on-one sessions lasting 90 minutes each.

Market entry analysis

Thinking about expanding into a new region or launching a new product line? We research the competitive landscape, regulatory requirements, and customer demand before you commit capital. A typical analysis takes four to six weeks.

Business process documentation

If key knowledge lives only in people's heads, your company is fragile. We document your core processes into clear, usable playbooks so that onboarding new staff takes days instead of months.

How an engagement works

From first call to delivered results, here is what you can expect at each stage.

Discovery call

A free two-hour conversation where we learn about your business, your goals, and what keeps you up at night. No sales pitch.

Diagnostic report

Within one week we deliver a written summary of findings and a proposed scope of work with a fixed project fee.

Implementation

We work alongside your team, not in a separate silo. Weekly check-ins keep everyone aligned and accountable to deadlines.

Handover and review

At project end we present measurable outcomes, transfer all documentation, and schedule a 90-day follow-up call at no extra cost.

What clients say

Real feedback from business owners we have worked with over the past three years.

"They spotted a pricing error in our subscription model that was costing us roughly £8,000 per month. The fix took two days. The entire engagement paid for itself within the first fortnight."

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the things prospective clients ask us most often.

How much does a typical engagement cost?

Projects range from £2,500 for a focused four-week operational audit to £15,000 for a full strategic overhaul spanning three months. We always quote a fixed fee upfront so you can budget with confidence.

Do you work with businesses outside Scotland?

Yes. About 40% of our current clients are based in England or Wales. We handle remote engagements via video calls and shared project boards, and travel to your site when face-to-face workshops are needed.

What industries do you specialise in?

We have deep experience in food and beverage manufacturing, professional services firms, technology startups, and trades businesses. That said, our methods are transferable, and we have successfully helped clients in retail, hospitality, and healthcare too.

How quickly can we start?

After the discovery call, we can usually begin the diagnostic phase within one week. Full project kick-off depends on scope, but most engagements are under way within two to three weeks of first contact.

Will you replace our existing accountant or solicitor?

No. We work alongside your existing advisors. In fact, we often collaborate with your accountant on cash flow models and with your solicitor on compliance matters. Our role is strategic and operational, not legal or statutory.
